Description

This image is figure 2 in the article "Fast Screening of Gunshot Residue Aims to Modernize Practice."

The main steps of electrochemical detection analysis. 1) Samples are collected from the hands of a person with a carbon stub, then analyzed by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, 2) some of the carbon stub sampled with micro-washes of buffer and acetonitrile, then dry down with nitrogen and reconstituted in buffer on SPCE electrode for electrochemical detection analysis, and 3) inorganic and organic gunshot residue components are identified, and data are assessed using neural networks.
