This report presents testing results for the WiebeTech FireWire DriveDock Combo (FireWire Interface) in accordance with performance criteria specified in Hardware Write Blocker (HWB) Assertions and Test Plan Version 1.0.
Abstract
A hardware write block (HWB) device is intended to prevent any change in data stored on a protected device without blocking access to the data for reading purposes only. One of the performance criteria for a HWB device is that it should not transmit a command to a protected storage device that modifies the data on the storage device. For all test cases run, the WiebeTech FireWire DriveDock Combo (Firewire Interface) always blocked any commands that would have changed user or operating system data stored on a protected drive. A second performance criteria for a HWB device is that it should return the data requested by a read operation. For all test cases run, the tested HWB device always allowed commands to read the protected drive. A third performance standard is that the HWB device return without modification any access-significant information requested from the drive. For all test cases run, the tested HWB device always returned access-significant information from the protected drive without any modification. The fourth performance criteria are that any error condition reported by the storage device to the HWB device should be reported to the host. For all test cases run, the tested HWB device always returned error codes from the protected drive without modification. The report provides information on test case selection, the testing environment, and test results.
