This update represents survey work conducted from June 2005, through January 2006, in the field of link analysis.
Abstract
The purpose of this survey was to identify the leading link analysis solutions that are being developed at institutions and corporations around the world and evaluate the applicability of their capabilities to the law enforcement community. The information has been organized and presented in such a way to benefit both practitioners (e.g., law enforcement officers) and researchers. After providing a high-level theoretical overview of the link analysis field and its terms, axes, capabilities, and algorithms, an indepth analysis of over 30 different solutions is provided. The remainder of the report discusses the next steps of the survey effort.
