This paper describes a project that developed a discrete-event simulation to explore more adaptive allocations of patrol officers by responding to different situations, to understand how many patrol police officers should be deployed in each district and shift to enable dynamic staffing rather than current annual staffing approach, with the goal of aiding the Arlington Police Department.
