Abstract
The Crime Analysis and Crime Mapping Information Clearinghouse is offered by the Police Foundation and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) as part of the federally funded grant, “The Police Foundation Crime Mapping Laboratory: Enhancing Community Policing Through Crime Mapping and Problem Analysis.” The clearinghouse provides a comprehensive list of bibliographic and Internet resources to those law enforcement practitioners or researchers interested in the field of crime analysis and crime mapping. The bibliographic references are composed of books, article, and reports that relate to topics such as crime analysis, problem solving, geographic information systems (GIS), crime mapping, and Internet mapping. In this 8th edition, over 130 new references are included, as well as 2 new resource categories: “Journey to Crime” and “Crime Forecasting.” The Internet resources provided include links to additional sources of information concerning crime analysis and crime mapping. It is important to note, that only those resources deemed most relevant by the Crime Mapping and Problem Analysis Laboratory have been included.
