The solicitation does not place limits on the number of proposed staff, such as PIs, Co-PIs, or Co-Investigators.

Consideration for the new investigator/early career opportunity is restricted to applications with proposed PI(s) meeting the qualifications specified under the New Investigator/Early Career Opportunity section of the solicitation. The PI is expected to hold the senior leadership role on the proposed project. That leadership role should be clearly reflected in the applicant’s proposal, for example in comparative time allocation. Other proposed subordinate key personnel on the project need not meet the new investigator/ early career opportunity qualifications.
