With this solicitation, NIJ, in collaboration with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, seeks proposals for rigorous research projects that improve measurement of juvenile reoffending. NIJ encourages applicants to submit proposals for studies that advance knowledge and understanding of juvenile reoffending and aid jurisdictions and juvenile justice agencies in measuring and using juvenile reoffending data appropriately in their efforts to identify priorities, develop responses, and monitor and assess policies and programs.
A separate project management plan is not required. However, the discussion of capabilities and competencies in the main body of the proposal narrative should outline the management plan and organization that connects the goals and objectives of the project.
The bold text below has been added under “Clarifications” on page 10. “The recent median NIJ grant award amount is approximately $600,000. Applicants are encouraged to propose budgets that match the research activities proposed, which may be more or less than the anticipated maximum dollar amount of awards Total Federal Awards: NIJ anticipates making 1 – 4 awards.”
