Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2017, $2,999,912)
This study would build on a current CSSI project (Award number 2015-CK-BX-0013). This project would examine a newly developed approach, Augmented, Deepened, Scaffolded (ADM), to implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in challenging school contexts.
The Augmented piece of the approach addresses trauma and violence exposure common to Philadelphia youths. The applicant will also conduct an independent evaluation with rigorous experimental, quasi-experimental, and comparative case study designs, and a comprehensive cost study. Schools will be assigned to implement the ADM implementation approach, business-as-usual SWPBIS, or no PBIS. Designs include a randomized controlled trial (Year 1), a rigorous matched-comparison-group quasi-experimental study (Years 2 & 3); a comparative case study (Years 2 & 3); and a comprehensive cost study (Years 1, 2, 3).
This project contains a research and/or development component, as defined in the applicable law, and complies with Part 200 Uniform Requirements 2 CFR 200.210(a) (14). ca/ncf
