The purpose of this project is to conduct additional waves of school climate assessments in Virginia middle and high schools as well as to improve the use of school climate assessments in school improvement and safety planning activities.
Phase one includes a mixed-methods assessment of how administrators, students, parents, teachers, school resource officers, and other school staff understand and make use of school climate data. In phase two, the applicant will develop a new online system for school climate assessment analysis with improved scoring procedures and reporting format. In phase three, the applicant will investigate a series of key longitudinal research questions using a school climate database containing four rounds of surveys per school.
This project contains a research and/or development component, as defined in the applicable law, and complies with Part 200 Uniform Requirements 2 CFR 200.210(a) (14). ca/ncf
