The applicant proposes to study the heroin, fentanyl, and other drug distribution networks in urban and rural Pennsylvania counties to maximize law enforcement and community efforts to disrupt the supply of illegal opioids.
The applicant proposes to study the opioid distribution networks in six counties known for drug trafficking along the interstate highway system. The project will analyze police administrative and intelligence data with community information to model these distribution networks.
Findings will be used to identify effective opioid interdiction techniques that uncover unknown members of the network and tie them to areas of high drug activity.
