Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2015, $165,931)

This project will entail the American Bar Association hosting, conducting maintenance, and making enhancements to the National Inventory of Collateral Consequences of Conviction (NICCC). The NICCC is a repository of state-level statutory and regulatory collateral consequences for all 50 states, the federal government, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The ABA will host the NICCC and continue to make it available to the public throughout the project period. The ABA will also continue to update the NICCC when revisions to existing collateral consequences are necessary or additional consequences need to be added. Finally, the ABA will add a new search feature to the NICCC to allow users to access archived records from previous years. This will allow researchers to be able to access historical data on collateral consequences in an effort to evaluate reforms or study how collateral consequences impact reentry
