Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2013, $472,170)
Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory Division (WSPCLD) and Innocence Project Northwest (IPNW) have a unique partnership that has exonerated four Washington men who collectively served over 44 years in prison for crimes they did not commit. Their freedom is a direct result of NIJ support. Funds are needed to expand the availability of DNA testing to free innocent prisoners and bring true perpetrators to justice.
