Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $20,818)
Using data from the 2001 and 2005 waves of the National Prosecutors Survey and the 2000 and 2003 waves of the Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics survey (both available through the NACJD [ICPSR]), measures of community policing and community prosecution activities will be developed and analyzed. Administrative and structural factors of the prosecutors' offices will also be included in analysis, as well as a measure of social vulnerability (publicly available). The proposed study will use structural equation modeling to explore the relationships between community policing, characteristics of the prosecutors' offices and their jurisdictions, and community prosecution activities. ca/ncf
