Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $25,000)
This project aims to provide a "novel analytical framework" for the analysis of street robberies in Newark, NJ. This study will identify potential criminogenic and protective features of the landscape and then analyze the vulnerability of cells to street robbery risk by modeling the differential spatial influence of micro place features on street robbery outcome. Next, the overall effect of cells on street robbery outcomes will be analyzed by modeling risk as a function of vulnerability to the spatial influence of criminogenic features. Lastly, the impact of the protection will be explored by modeling risk while controlling for protective factors of landscape.ca/ncf
