Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $399,172)
The goal of this project is to provide a scientific basis of what features or information needs to be involved during a forensic handwriting examination and statistical data that supports the conclusions reached from such examinations. By collecting handwriting samples over an extended period of time (up to 11 years in 3 year increments) this study will develop an extended database that will allow for time model analysis of the data collected that can be quantifiably measured and would lead to further understandings of the many complexities involved during the act of writing.
