This funding will be used by the County of Ventura to possibly eliminate its backlog of violent crime cold cases through overtime and increased access to reagents, supplies and storage for these cases. The combination of overtime and increased reagents and storage capacity should result in a reduction of the current violent crime cold case backlog by ninety percent.
