Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $185,308)
The Baltimore County Police Department requests funding to continue the cold case project that was initiated with their 2009 award. This funding will be used to continue the existing model of reviewing, investigating, and analyzing DNA on violent crime cold cases. The unit will expand the cases reviewed under this funding to assaults with weapons increasing the chances of solving cases. Investigative travel, training, and the outsourcing of DNA will also be funded under this proposal.
