This application continues work for Project 54. Project 54 system integrates the operation of law enforcement and first responder in-vehicle technology (i.e., radio, siren, lights, computer equipment, etc) by use of a multi-mode control system (i.e., voice, keyboard, touchscreen, etc). This project will investigate the use of commercial smartphone technology within the Project 54 technology suite and also to investigate the best approach for law enforcement officers to interact with mobile devices safely, efficiently and effectively while driving.
