Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $1,976,134)
This award will provide funding for South Carolina Research Authority to establish an Information and Sensor Systems Center of Excellence (ISS COE) that will (1) provide scientific and technical support to NIJ's research and development efforts; (2) support the demonstration, transfer, and adoption of appropriate technology into practice by law enforcement, corrections agencies, courts, and related criminal justice agencies; (3) assist in the development and dissemination of technology guidelines and standards; and (4) provide technology assistance, information, and support to law enforcement and other
appropriate criminal justice agencies.
