The purpose of these funds will be used for the Montgomery County Department of Police to continue the efforts of the Cold Case Unit to review cold case files, determine the presence of DNA evidence for analysis and locate/interview victims and witnesses in 'cold cases'. The Montgomery County Department of Police presently employs a multi-faceted approach; using the combined efforts of the Cold Case Unit, the Forensic Biology Unit (DNA Lab) of the Montgomery County Department of Police, other accredited Labs and the Montgomery County State's Attorneys Office.
