Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $200,621)
DNA Polymerase Technology, Inc. has engineered novel DNA polymerases that are highly resistant to PCR inhibition. In the current project, these newly-engineered DNA polymerase will be used to improve current protocols for typing human STR loci, mitochondrial DNA, and the Y chromosome. They will also formulate a blend of mutants and two novel thermophilic polymerases for improving the enzyme performance with damaged DNA.
