The purpose of this award will be to establish a Cold Case Unit. This Cold Case Unit will be supervised by a DCI Zone 1 Special Agent that will oversee two main components of the Cold Case Unit, the Cold Case Database Team and the Cold Case Investigative Team. The Cold Case Database Team will be comprised of two DCI Special Agents and one DCI Laboratory Criminalist. These individuals will establish and maintain the Cold Case database. This team will also identify, review and prioritize cases that have the potential for resolution from DNA analysis.
