The purpose of these funds will be used to develop a training program that will consist of 6 one-week courses including 7 specialized workshops in Medicolegal Investigation of Death, Level I. This is a 5-day 40-hour course focused on the basics of death scene investigation. There will also be training in Advanced Forensic Investigation of Death, Level II. This 5-day 40-hour course will focus on the application of advanced forensic techniques in death investigation, geared toward the practicing investigator with some years of experience and/or certification in Level I at OCME or a comparable and recognized course, or ABMDI certification. The Advanced course will include at least 8 workshops from which the trainee may choose; each will be repeated throughout the week. These sessions will be hands-on and laboratory/field-based.
