Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $900,000)
The purpose of these funds will be used to provide enhanced training for complex DNA mixture interpretation through the development of carefully designed training tools. Three day training courses, one day workshops and an interactive CD/website for use in the laboratory will be produced using the mixture DNA profiles generated in this project. The three day workshops will be targeted to the Northeast region of the country where approximately 300 analysts are employed. Up to 16 attendees per workshop can be trained. The one day workshops will be offered at AAFS and Promega where approximately 150 to 200 attendees can register.
