Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $480,000)
The goal of this project is to develop an integrated miniaturized forensic DNA testing device that can concentrate large-volume samples as well as purify samples to remove inhibitors and contaminants. This device will enable the microfluidic processing of compromised and low copy number forensic DNA samples, as well as those samples requiring mitochondrial DNA analysis.
