This project will bring together the limited computer crime investigation expertise within the State, consolidate and share current tools and processes, and to continue training state and local law enforcement officials in modern tactical digital forensic techniques necessary for combating the documented growing incidence of computer based crime. Major deliverables include no cost technical short courses for state and local law enforcement officials, building local police digital forensic laboratories, and support for the Mississippi Cyber Crime Fusion Center. Computer crime investigations use tools and technologies to investigate crimes such as child pornography, terrorism, murder investigations, financial crime and identity theft.
