The South Carolina Research Authority will develop a statewide Pawn Shop Transaction Redcording System maintained at a state level agency that can be utilized by law enforcement agencies can be an effective asset in combating property crimes. The system will be open source.The system will have an alerting mechanism and will provide a unique search capability for serial numbers in the proposed system to be checked against those in NCIC.
