Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $1,375,497)
This Award is for the operations and maintenance of the Border Research and Technology Center (BRTC), which provides science and engineering advice and support, technology information, and outreach services on border-related issues. BRTC also works with law enforcement agencies at ports of entry that are interested in technologies to respond to critical incidents at schools, as well as tools for detecting contraband.
