This project will evaluate the psychological effects that long-term solitary confinement has on inmates in Colorado. This is a longitudinal study with comparison groups of inmates both pre- and post-segregation. The project will include 200 male inmates between two administrative segregation units and two comparison groups. Assessment tests will be administered at various points of confinement to determine the affects of solitary confinement.
