Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $197,589)
Purdue University proposes to expand the development of a free forensic tool (File Hound) that will allow investigators to more effectively and efficiently sift through volumes of data while searching for contraband images. This project will extend the capability of the tool to filter searches for skin color/tone, eliminate graphics files that are not pictures (e.g. icons, buttons, etc.), eliminate files based on known good hash values and provide a standard output format (PDF).
