NLETS RAND (Random Access to NLETS Data) Expansion Pilot
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) will continue to deliver expanded analytical intelligence capabilities across all sectors of U.S. law enforcement - to federal, state, city, local and tribal components - by exploiting the latent `communal knowledge' present in the body of agency messages and queries routinely conveyed through NLETS. This expanded capability will allow enforcement intelligence analysts to identify and reveal previously hidden relationships and associations, conduct pattern, trend and time analyses, draw relevant inferences, and reach sound and demonstrable conclusions form the vast available data.

This proposal is to expand the Nlets Interstate Sharing of Photos (NISP) Project to more states and to expand the types of images being shared over the Nlets network. The NISP III project will build on the critical work already started with the NIJ funded NISP I and II Project.
