Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $265,655)
The Forensic Casework DNA Backlog Reduction Program provides formula funding to State and units of local government with existing crime laboratories that conduct DNA analysis. The funds are to be used to analyze backlogged forensic DNA casework samples from sexual assaults, homicides, and kidnappings, whether in government-owned laboratories or through accredited fee-for-service vendors.
