This award funds an earmark from within House Report 108-401, the conference report accopanying H.R. 2673, enacted as Public Law 108-199, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2004. The relevant conference report language excerpt reads, "... for the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Training Center." Through this project, the City of Hazard will complete technology renovations and enhancements to the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Center, which serves as a national focal point for the assessment of technology needs of rural areas and provides technology assistance to aid rural law enforcement.
