Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $385,000)
The identification of prosecution goals and outcomes by the Prosecution Study for the 21st Century was completed in a previous grant. This new grant will take the next critical step in developing strategies for implementing prosecution performance measures developed in the first study and testing them in a community prosecution site to determine the operational validity of the measures. The goal of the study is to explore the value of the measures , their application in an operational setting, and their ability to capture critical information on the evolving practice of community prosecution. The study will provide a refined measurement framework and guidance on implementing and improving prosecution practices.
