Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $494,739)
The West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation will coordinate a pilot program in West Virginia to digitally record and store the 3D facial image and fingerprint of school age children (with parental approval). The biometic data will be stored on a secure server located at the WVHTC. This project will assemble the hardware and software to enable the immediate dissemination to proper authorities and to the public of the image of the missing child.
