Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $122,890)
This project will clean, and make more usable and accessible, monthly UCR data from 1977 to the most recent year, for over 18,000 agencies, for individual crimes and the Crime Index. The proposed research will: correct some of the inaccuracies that remain in the UCR database; provide accurate and accessible statistics for county-level data; extend the corrected UCR data set from 2000 to the most recent year; create utilities that will simplify adding each succeeding year's data; and create utilities that will facilitate porting selected agency data to a program of the user's choosing.
