Approximately 200 samples will be evaluated using the mini-STR, nuSNP and mtDNA coding region SNP assays. Of these, approximately two-thirds of the samples will be skeletal remains for which STR and mtDNA testing has already been performed. The majority of reagent costs will be incurred during the evaluation of the SNP panels and mini-STR panels through electrophoresis on the 310 Genetic Analyzer. The evaluation of the typing systems will be performed in concert with accurate quantitation using real-time PCR methods.
