Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $248,375)
The King County Crime Lab Improvement Program will fund work at the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab on minimal and degraded samples through DNA-STR analysis. Additional cases will be outsourced to private agencies in order to reduce the backlog currenly being experienced by the Lab due to the high volume of evidence in the Green River case.
