PROJECT SUMMARY 2003-IJ-CX-K105

This award will develope a modified to improve the yield of DNA isolation from bones samples by introducing a matrix proteinase treatment step after the grinding and prior to the actula DNA extraction. Yhe method is expected to increase the yield of DNA isolation and should lead to a higher success rate in generating
genotype profiles for the subsequent DNA analysis. The method will increase the ability of scientist and research to identify human remains of mass fatality incidents.
