The primary objective of the proposed research is to provide methodologically sound knowledge about the determinants of the pcommunity policing implemention and its relationship with organizational structure . Using large municipal police organization with 100 or more full time sworm employees as the units of analysis, the current study will explore the direct and indirect effects of the taskand institutional environment of the police organization on community policing implemention. This study will provide for police executives consideration or already implementing community policing, and those funding and otherwise assisting community policng efforts, which environmental and structural characterstics facilitate and impede the implemention process.
