Project Summary for 2002-RG-CX-K001
The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (the Center) proposes to continue its current interoperability project with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) by engaging five selected states in a pilot planning program, i.e. a policy academy. Selected states will use the planning process developed in the existing Center project to develop their own statewide interoperability plans.
The Center will provide the necessary resources and skills to build awareness, engage outside faculty and expertise, facilitate peer networking, and design and deliver technical assistance to aid the states in their efforts to implement interoperability strategies. The Center's approach is to effectively engage the states at the gubernatorial level to cultivate the executive leadership needed to advance interoperability.
