In order to further develop and refine the issues and ideas addressed at the Department of Justice roundtable, this project will establish a working group of approximately 25 experts. The role of the working group will be to: 1) identify, review, refine and develop priorities among the myriad suggestions made at the roundtable; 2) concurrently gather information from federal agencies and national, state and local organizations about contemplated, planned or existing activities related to medical forensic aspects of elder abuse and neglect, in order to promote communication and coordination and to identify promising factors; and 3) develop recommendations for the elder abuse, health and justice fields about medical forensics related to elder abuse and neglect.
