PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 1999-LT-VX-K004
This project will involve three components:

First is the evaluation and development of best practices for Police-In-Car video technology for $390,000. The evaluation will include comparisons between analog and digital systems and the best practices development will involve the Underwriters Laboratory, the Law Enforcement Videographers Association and the IACP Private Sector Liaison Group for Video Surveillance technologies. The second component is the development and distribution of a Taser (Electro Muscular Disruption Device) quick turn around policies and procedures document for $39,820. This document will be based on lessons learned and existing best practices in use by representative organizations in the U.S. and the U.K. and their evaluations. The third component is $10,000 for the completion and transition of the Pursuit Management Database to long-term support by the IACP.

This award will allow for the completion of the Pursuit Incident Database, wherein a statistical analysis module will be incorporated within the system's software. This will enable database users to perform more meaningful statistical analyses of pursuit incident data, including, but not limited to, measures of mean, standard deviation, variance, as well as regression and correlation analyses. The Pursuit Incident Database is currently in use by law enforcement agencies nationwide.
