PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 97-IJ-CX-0049
This is a study of community policing in commercial district in ì
Philadelphia. In particular, it tries to attain a better ì
understanding of victimization on commercial establishments, and ì
how community and problem-oriented policing efforts can best ì
assuage the problems posed by crime, fear, and incivilities in ì
commercial districts. It is also anticipated that this research ì
will address the impact of community context, type of business, ì
organizational structure of the district, market mix, and ì
relationships with the community policing impact on crime ì
prevention and order maintenance efforts within commercial areas.
