PROJECT SUMMARY FOR 97-DN-VX-0009
This award will be the second supplement to NIJ grant 97-DN-VX-0009. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCI) will continue to oversee a consortium of local and regional labs including the Cleveland Police Forensic Laboratory,the Hamilton County Coroner's Laboratory, the Lake County Regional Forensic Laboratory, the Mansfield Police Department Laboratory, and the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory. Funds will support the continued expansion of DNA analyses services in the State of Ohio via the procurement of upgraded equipment and technologies,analytical supplies,training in STR technology for laboratory staff, upgraded hardware for participation in the national CODIS database, and contract laboratory analysis of the State's backlogged offender DNA samples for entry into the database.
