Zhengming (Allan) Ding is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Information and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. His research interests include transfer learning/domain adaptation, deep learning, and multi-view learning. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University with funding from a 2016 NIJ GRF-STEM fellowship. Allan says the GRF "provided a perfect chance for me to explore the advanced deep learning techniques for forensic face recognition. The GRF funding also allowed me to attend academic conferences and visit other research groups." He notes that "the research completed under my NIJ GRF greatly impacted my career path. As a tenure-track assistant professor now, I am eager to continue exploring research on forensic scenarios."
