David Kirk (2004 Fellow) is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and a professorial fellow of Nuffield College at Oxford University, where he conducts research on neighborhood effects, re-entry formerly incarcerated persons, and crime and the life course. One ongoing project involves an experimental housing mobility program for formerly incarcerated persons. "The GRF not only provided an important source of funding for my dissertation research, it also facilitated contact with some of the leading researchers and practitioners of crime and justice issues in the country," he says.
