Alex J. Krotulski is a Ph.D. candidate in Analytical Chemistry at Temple University, focusing on analytical methods for the detection and monitoring of novel psychoactive substances (NPS). My GRF allowed me to develop and submit a research proposal on the topic of my choosing, and conduct meaningful research that I knew would be applicable to other areas and disciplines associated with current drug problems, Alex says. Under my GRF, I was able to understand NPS and their role in forensic science more completely, showing me that career options within forensic toxicology and forensic chemistry were suited to my interests.
