It just makes sense that the lab personnel would want to know how the collection process is done when the detectives collect it. Just the same the detectives need to know how the lab analyzes it; it makes for a smoother and easier transition and it saves on resources. Evidence prioritization is where you have to make a decision on how to work a case first; maybe it's which case to work first or what part of the case to work first. There's not unlimited resources. Available resources today are completely different than they were years ago we have access I think to enhanced resources and everybody can't be an expert in their own area. If it requires forensic follow-up. Police officers on the street today aren't nearly as equipped to deal with that as those people who specialize in those resources, so knowing where to obtain resources from is as important as knowing what resources are necessary.
