After describing the organization of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), this booklet presents NIJ research application procedures and requirements for award recipients, followed by NIJ research program plan announcements.
Each announcement describes the scope of the research for which proposals are being solicited. The Center for Crime Control Research presents announcements in the areas of crime control and career criminals; drugs, alcohol, and crime; offender classification and the prediction of criminal behavior; and violent criminal behavior. The Office of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Research presents announcements in the areas of apprehension, prosecution, and adjudication of offenders; forensic and criminal justice technology; public safety and security; punishment and control of offenders; victims and the criminal justice system; and white collar and organized crime. NIJ fellowship programs are also described. Each announcement lists references and recent related grants.
